2024 WYOMING VOTER GUIDE

     

    1.Voter Registration

    Deadline to Register/Update: October 21, 2024

    Visit your county clerk’s website to find locations in your county where you may register in person. A list of county clerks is available here: https://sos.wyo.gov/Elections/Docs/WYCountyClerks.pdf

    If you cannot register in person at any of your county’s locations, you may register by mail. The following items are required when mailing in your registration application to your county clerk’s office:

    • A completed Wyoming voter registration application (All applicants, except military and overseas citizens, must have this form notarized before mailing.);
    • A copy of acceptable identification:
      • Wyoming Driver’s License;
      • United States Passport;
      • Driver’s License or Identification Card issued by any State or Outlying Possession of the United States;
      • Identification Card issued by the Federal Government, any State or Local Government, or an Agency thereof;
      • A tribal ID of any Federally Recognized Tribe;
      • Photo Identification Card issued by the University of Wyoming, a Wyoming Community College, or a Wyoming Public School;
      • United States Military Card; or
      • Identification Card issued to a Dependent of a member of the United States Armed Forces.

     

    2. Check Your Registration

    Why check your registration? Your address is where election officials send notices, application forms to receive your ballot in the mail, and more. Additionally, poll workers will check if the address on your voter registration matches the address on your ID at the polls.

    Checklist:

    • Is your name spelled correctly? (Correct hyphenations, middle initials, etc)
    • Correct Address
    • Active Voter Status (if not update by sending in another online/mail voter application)
    • Correct Date of Birth
    • Correct Political Party Preference
    • Take a time-stamped photograph or screenshot of your registration, and take it with you to the polls as proof of your registration.

     

    3. Voter ID Law

    Wyoming requires voters to present identification when voting.

    The following list of accepted ID was current as of 2024:

    • A Wyoming driver’s license as defined by W.S. 31‑7‑102(a)(xxv);
    •  A tribal identification card issued by the governing body of the Eastern Shoshone tribe of Wyoming, the Northern Arapaho tribe of Wyoming or other federally recognized Indian tribe;
    • A Wyoming identification card issued under W.S. 31‑8‑101;
    • A valid United States passport;
    • A United States military card;
    • A driver’s license or identification card issued by any state or outlying possession of the United States;
    • Photo identification issued by the University of Wyoming, a Wyoming community college or a Wyoming public school;
    • A valid Medicare insurance card. This subdivision is repealed effective December 31, 2029;
    • A valid Medicaid insurance card. This subdivision is repealed effective December 31, 2029.

     

    4. Order Your Absentee Mail Ballot

    Deadline to register in order to mail Ballot: November 4, 2024

    Request your Mail-In Ballot Online

    We recommend requesting your absentee mail ballot as soon as possible and well in advance of this deadline in order to ensure that you receive your ballot in time.

    Deadline to return Absentee Mail Ballot: Must be received by 7:00 PM on Election Day November 5, 2024

     

    5. Early Voting Information

    Voters can cast absentee ballots in-person as soon as those ballots are available, until the day before Election Day.

    When in-person absentee ballot casting is available, voters can cast those ballots where established, including at courthouses or other public buildings. Those public buildings will be open during normal business hours. The county clerk may also establish satellite voting locations.

    6. Be A Poll Worker

    Poll workers must be 16 years old or over, and a registered voter (if over 18) in their county.
